Jackson Hole Day 1 - Super Bowl

-3 degrees start in Jackson, WY.

Brought in gear this morning and warmed up while waking.  Whew, forgot to bring in our gear overnight.  Amazing how long boots stay cold when frozen.

Drive up to Jackson Hole Resort was 25 mins and parked up close for $35.  Free parking off mountain just seemed to be a little more than difficult.  Getting there early we hung out in the car for a bit.  Despite web site saying 9:00 a.m. start, the lifts and gondolas opened at 8:30 a.m.

Skiing at Jackson Hole is basically very long hard blue or black runs.  More on the black side.  While pretty much a groomer hill, it was quite the challenge.  The

Corbet's Couloir

was not open due to lack of cover.  Just not enough snow the past several weeks.  View of the entire Jackson valley was so hard to capture in a picture.  Warmed up a bit, but a cold a.m. with the haze clearing for a blue bird day.

No lunch but resting break at lodge.  The barkeep was from Maui and told Drake headed home to 8 funerals.  Reminds you always that life can be tougher for others and we are blessed.  Enjoyed a drink that Janie would have loved.  A beach oriented drink!!!

Last run top to bottom after skiing to the base from Mid Mountain and taking one of two Gondola to the top.  The Tram goes to the highest peak Corbet's line.  Both were tired from a full morning skiing, so headed to Jackson Hole to check out Sidewinders.  Drake went in to find out they had reservations for tables and only a couple left.  After a quick check with Dad, the table was reserved as hanging out in the room just didn't seem right.

Back to the Homewood Suites, shower, regroup and than by 3:00 p.m. in our booth seats with a pretzel and pitcher of Coors Lite ordered.  Kevin was our server for the night and he never let us go unattended.

At game time the place was full and there were a few Chiefs fans, but mostly 9er fans.  Will was one Chiefs fan that came by and chatted with us for a 1/2 hour and we connected with at times during the game.  A nut case who was over the top excitement throughout.  There was a table of girls with the Taylor T-Shirts with Kelce as boyfriend, so we had all extremes for fans.  Our neighbor booth was a family that had Miami roots, so Dad was rooting for Chiefs despite our impact on their season.  After they left we had a group of guys with one Patriots fan that could not hold his mouth about Brady being better than Mahomes.  Suffice it to say he was very quiet at the end until Will came by and he started his smack talk again.

During the game Jeff challenged Kevin (server) to bring us a win as his tip depended on it.  It was meant in jest, but ended up being a story line within a story line.  He earned his tip big time and got his payout.

Vegas Bombs that got a little confused

Server Kevin after Chiefs Clinch Back to Back Super Bowl wins.  Thank you Kevin.

In the end an exhausting night of beer, wings, pizza, pretzel, Vegas Bombs made as drinks and a lot of trips to the men's room.  What a victory and post game interviews on the TV back at the room were oh so fun.  To bed by 11:00 p.m.  Heart still racing and ready to crash.
