Last Day with Family at VRBO or Snowbird
Snow again over night leaving the cars, driveway, steps and sidewalks covered in an inch plus of powder.
A typical morning start with everyone except Sarah, Drake, Parker with Grandpa and Christa not skiing. Earlier start as anticipated crowds on Friday to be heavy. Parker did not sleep well all night and most of us are sore and tired. David and Logan were troupers and represented the crew on the mountains.
Parker had sausage and eggs for breakfast and the rest of us bagels, coffee and bananas.
Text from David upon arrival good news, but sounds like the weather is less than desirable to start. Cold and cloudy/foggy visibility.
Snowbird open bowl with packed powder....all black. Logan and David in their element despite low visibility.Parker and Grandma having a morning power nap.
After nap time we packed up around 11:15 to take back Christa's rentals to Christy Sports and Sarah looked at some Ski Coat options. Sales are starting on gear and of course what you want and what is on sale may not match up. No purchase yet, but size trying and locating selection in CO store an option.
After we headed back towards the VRBO and stopped for lunch at Slackwater a pizza, sandwich and beer restaurant.
During lunch we did some homework on the next leg of the trip and one fun fact was snow fall to date. Check out Alta, UT where we skied on Monday. Snowbird right next door has to be the same. Jackson Hole being the next stop was the goal of the search. It looks like Steamboat is as usual out pacing other CO resorts.
After lunch was movie, computer time, naps and general vegging out for everyone. Logan and David sent a lot of pictures of their day's adventure. Snowbird is very technical and despite a lot of great snow the crowd did impact some of their route selections. The Tunnel at the top that takes you to the back bowl must have been awesome to see. An old mine shaft with Magic Carpet through a little museum of artifacts going back to the beginning of Snowbird.
Last night at the VRBO with the family was eating leftovers, and starting the not so fun part of packing up. The crew flying home have early flights. Ok, well David and Christa have a 5:30 a.m. flight. The rest the 9:55 a.m. back to KC. Either way need to pack up tonight for the most part. Logan, David and Christa all got in one last hot tub!!
Parker struggled going to sleep despite not much of a nap. FOMO!!
The the rest of us finished out the night with drinks and darts. Sarah early to bed and Janie packed and read until we all called it quits around 11:00. Night Night
I've made some updates to this posting if your interested to go back and check it out.
