Utah - Deer Valley
First up in the am (5:45 a.m.) and took this pic from family room at VRBO. We have a complete view of the valley.
A little later Logan captured more of the early sunrise effect.
The plans are to ski Deer Valley with the entire crew today. Unfortunately Sarah being pregnant and Parker not yet old enough for the mountains is not skiing this trip.
Everyone was up and ready to go pretty much on time. The Indy Clan headed out first (before 7:00 a.m.) as they needed to get Christa's ski rentals. The KC crew left about 7:15 to head up the mountain. We stayed in touch to try and coordinate parking, but ended up in two different spots. David parked below the central lodge entrance and Jeff parked at the Gondola Parking. Both worked out great being free and relatively easy. The Indy crew had a bit of a hike and the KC clan had a long line for the gondola.

Later in the day we were able to connect everyone up on the west end of the resort at the Empire Lodge for a lunch break.
David took off with Drake and Logan to concur the black runs on Empire Mountain. Moguls, tree runs and chutes were the afternoon call for the boys.
Garrett, Janie, Katelyn, Christa and Jeff took to the easier runs. This was Garrett first time skiing and he really started to get the knack despite quite a few spills. After a few blue runs, Garrett and Janie took an afternoon break, while Jeff and the ladies hit several blue runs.

Then the day started to wind down, so we all headed for the Snow Peak Lodge where Sarah and Parker were parking to meet us all. Quick visit with Parker and then Janie and Jeff had to hustle to catch the last lifts to get back to the Gondola. Logan headed there directly and David caught us at the Snow Peak.
Parker had a brief nap with Mom before heading up to the mountain.
Everyone drove home and did the proverbial unpacking and many made it to the hot tub. Drake started dinner, while Sarah took a trip to the grocery store. Grandma hit the shower and Jeff played with Parker. Then switch off and time for Parker's dinner. Then off to bed for Parker, who did not go easily.
Dinner Sun Dried Tomato Creamy Orzo with Chicken. Two nights in a row, because the Tortellini soup was worthy of several seconds.
After dinner some pool play and then some darts. Sarah and Janie were first to bed for the adults.
